GARLIC MASHED POTATOES WITH CHIVES RECIPE

Ingredients
- 1kg potatoes (with skin on)
- 2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 2 tsp nutmeg powder
- 200ml milk
- 20g butter
- pinch of salt (if you’re using unsalted butter)
- 1 tsp white pepper
- 10 garlic cloves/ 5 tsp mince garlic
- 3 tbsp chopped chives
Steps
- Boil potatoes 10-15 minutes with the skin on. (If you have larger potatoes, cut them up into quarters first)
- Strain the potatoes and mash them up about 80% leaving some small chunks around unless you love to eat fully mashed potatoes then mash them 100%
- In a pot on low heat, saute the minced garlic with butter till light golden brown
- Add in the mashed potatoes to the pot and stir with a spatula
- Add in the cinnamon, nutmeg spices, white pepper, milk and mix everything till well combined. (If you feel that your mixture is too dry, add more milk and butter to it)
- Season with a pinch of salt
- Off the heat and add the chives, give it a final stir and it’s ready!
